The smoldering hot Ian Somerhalder of The Vampire Diaries has been dealing with crime recently. He took to his Twitter page Monday to state what was going on in his Atlanta, Georgia area.

He commented,"Crazy how a beautiful can make a human feel...Though kinda just masks the bad--another close friend car robbed Sat night in front of house. We were there! Tired of ATL crime...Its BS-really." The actor and his fellow co-star and girlfriend Nina Dobrev both live in the area while tapingThe Vampire Diaries series.

Seriously, that is ridiculous! Nina could have possibly been the other person he was referencing to.

He then clears up how he feels about the situation. "Rough times I guess...We need more affordable education in our beautiful country."

He's definitely right with that one. All of this is quite scary and hopefully the couple don't witness any other kind of crime in the future.

Okay, so when one Twitter fan asked Dobrev what kind of shampoo she uses, it wasn’t exactly a Vampire Diaries related question, but this just proves what a role model CW stars can become. I wouldn’t mind giving my tresses the Dobrev treatment. She’s been using L’Oreal! She sounds like she knows what she’s talking about, too. I’m totally going to check out their EverStrong line! Is there anything The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev (Elena/Katherine) can’t do? The 22-year-old Bulgarian beauty has tackled two roles on our favorite vampire show for two seasons (until recently — although we’re still not 100 percent convinced Elena’s centuries-old doppelganger is really dead). But she’s been busy off screen as well, dabbling inphilanthropy and stepping into big screen territory with the angsty The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Now Variety is reporting Nina is going behind the camera, directing a short film in early 2012.

Cambio and Killer Digital have partnered together and enlisted several hot young stars — including Pretty Little Liars’ Troian Bellisario, Twilight’sKellan Lutz, and Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers — to direct and produce short films for Cambio’s fledgling website.

According to producer Christine Vachon, of Boys Don’t Cry and Party Monster fame, "It's a great way for actors to get out of their comfort zone.” Along with the shorts, the site will feature live video chats between Vachon and the newbie filmmakers.

Wonder what Nina will decide to bring to the computer screen (and if she’ll recruit boyfriend Ian Somerhalder to be the star)? We can say with confidence that’s one short we would not want to miss.

'The Vampire Diaries' --- Nina Dobrev, Joseph Morgan love their characters

PHOENIX -- Now in its third season, the hit CW show "The Vampire Diaries," is giving viewers some history with story lines involving Klaus and The Original Family of vampires.

Nina Dobrev plays Elena, a high-school senior and the (seemingly) lone human at the center of the drama. Elena's best friends are a witch, a vampire and a werewolf-turned-hybrid-vampire. And her brother sees dead people.

Needless to say, she has a lot going on in her life, and we haven't even mentioned her vampire boyfriend who is more bad guy than good guy this season and her burgeoning relationship with said boyfriend's brother, also a vampire.

"Elena is just struggling to get through the day without getting killed or attacked, and here I am sitting next to the villain of the show," Dobrev said.

"You're perfectly safe," baddie vampire Joseph Morgan replied.

Morgan's Klaus, one of the original (nearly unkillable) vampires and the most powerful vampire in existence, is working to build an army of vampire-werewolf hybrids like himself. Elena's blood is the key to making that a reality.

'[Elena] takes care of everyone and she can't catch a break no matter where she goes or what she does," Dobrev continued. "It always creeps up on her."

The show is intense, even scary at times, which is the goal, according to Dobrev.

"We want it to be like a mini horror movie every week," Dobrev explained. "We want it to be very suspenseful, dark and scary. that's what makes it cool and different from all the other shows."

"It's the greatest job in the world ...," Morgan said, who joined the already successful show this season. "It's sort of a dream job, really. Plus I get to play a vampire and a werewolf. Yeah, I've ticked all those boxes so I don't really know what I'm going to do after this."

Paul Wesley of "Fallen" also stars as Stephan, Elena's vampire boyfriend, while Ian Somerhalder of "Lost" is Damon, Stephan's vampire brother, who also is vying for Elena's affections. It's an interesting little love triangle, rectangle if you include Katherine (also play by Dobrev), the vampire who turned Stephan and Damon.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at  7 p.m. Arizona time, followed by "the Secret Circle" on CW6.
