Those who were worried that the sudden presence of Lost alum Alice Evans would lead to an agonizingly drawn-out mystery centered on a frustratingly ambiguous character, much like on that other popular supernatural show, can rest assured. Tonight’s installment of The Vampire Diaries, the oh-so-appropriately titled “Dangerous Liaisons,” ultimately reveals the shocking intentions of Evans’ Original mother, Esther. Esther entered the Mystic Falls game only last week, when a millennium-old spell lifted her spirit from the great beyond to unite her with her vampiric family. Tonight, viewers will learn what’s in store for that family, as they dance and flirt their way through a lavish ball that would put Blair Waldorf to shame.

EW screened the episode with exec producer Julie Plec, who shed some light on tonight’s pivotal installment and teased what’s yet to come.SPOILERS AHEAD!

Vampire Diaries, Behind the Scenes of the Hot EW Shoot

As if things couldn’t get any hotter well EW has released a BTS video from the Photo Shoot that was released yesterday check it out must click the image to be taken to the video.

Who will be in compromising positions?

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is naked too often on The Vampire Diaries, can be difficult to keep track with all its nudity. (Not that we're complaining.) We were really convinced that Elena would make an amazing discovery as last indiscretion Damon waking up with Rebekah. However, TV Guide is insinuating that the so-called nude scene is actually Damon with Sage (Cassidy Freeman) in episode 3 × 16 "1912."
Freeman tells the TV Guide that his character will be very tough - she knows all about the originals, in fact - and she'll be in some "compromising positions". As the episode's name implies, Sage will be seen in flashbacks, where it can easily be joined with Damon. (With the Original perhaps? Who knows.) But we're a bit skeptical that this is about a vampire who discovers Elena. As Nina Dobrev spoke to TV

Guide in January, "I can not say whether or not I'm in this scene, but it is a character that fans are accustomed to and Elena will have definitely an opinion about it." Even if Elena is the jealous type, it does not can get really angry about what happened a hundred years ago. Moreover, Sage not a vampire we are familiar. Maybe all this means that we will have two scenes with Damon naked
In other confusing news, E! 're talking about a kiss at the ball of the Originals in episode 3 × 14 "Dangerous Liaisons." E! says it is not nothing but drama for the triangle between Salvatore and Elena, and Klaus is trying to win Caroline. How will he manage to overcome a diamond bracelet? He should have started with something simpler, like a teddy bear and so follow the path up the jewels.

It’s flashback time again: A new photo from The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder (Damon) hints there’s another time warp in Mystic Falls’ future.

On January 16, Mr. Smolderhotter tweeted, “What if…” followed by a pic of himself sporting a black wig for an upcoming episode of TVD, eerily similar to ones worn by Daniel Gillies (Elijah) and Joseph Morgan (Klaus) in other way-back episodes. Maybe we’re going out on a limb here, but judging by the flowing locks, we think Season 3, Episode 16 — which is being filmed now — will feature a trip back in time. Will this be a solo venture, or will we get a glimpse of any other TVD characters in another era? Somerhalder offered another clue via tweet: “Damon and his baby bro, all day long today… Talking about munching on people. Love my jobHave a wonder-fully swell day.” From the sound of things, The Ripper will join Damon on his trip to yesteryear.

Is Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) shipping Elena (Nina Dobrev) andMatt (Zach Roerig)? The Vampire Diaries star has been making some interesting comments to Entertainment Weekly and Ology.com.

“I think Matt or Tyler or even the family dog would have a better chance of getting Elena than Damon would. The things this man has done to this teenage girl, it’s insurmountable amount of bad,” Somerhalder told EW. But that doesn’t mean he thinks Elena should get back together with her ex, his brother Stefan (Paul Wesley). When Ian, Zach, and Joseph Morgan (Klaus) spoke with Ology, they joked around about who would be better for Mystic Falls’ doppelganger — anyone but the vampire brothers, pretty much. “It’s time for her to move on, you know?” said Joseph. “Find another handsome duo… like Batman and Robin!” suggested Ian. “Yogi and Boo-Boo!” countered Zach. Oh, these guys. But Ian sounds generally concerned for Elena: “But it is weird. It’s definitely weird. [Executive producer] Julie Plec has this way of poetically justifying it, but I… I’ve gotten to the place where I’m just interested in seeing what happens to any of us.”

Of course, Elena’s situation is pretty messed up all around. “For a second [she had love]. There was Matt, and then the death of parental figures, and then five episodes of love with a sexy vampire man, and then…” says Ian before Zach interrupts: “And now she’s got a mid-30s teacher living in her house! A total alcoholic!” Poor Alaric (Matt Davis). Joseph’s logic saves the day for both Delena and Stelena fans: “[Elena] hasn’t been a saint, either, and she’s made decisions that have pushed them… things like taking the dagger out of Elijah that are really kind of risky and puts them in jeopardy as well.”

Damon may have scoffed when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) suggested Elena (Nina Dobrev) should end up with Matt (Zach Roerig) in Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 13, “Bringing out the Dead,” but Ian Somerhaldermight not think it’s such a crazy idea. In a recent interview with Ology, Ian said he just doesn’t think the doppelganger should end up with either Salvatore.

When Ology proposed just that scenario, Ian said, “Oh, I could totally see that. I mean, I think that the best thing for her would be to not end up with a Salvatore. But it’ll be tough. I have no idea. I mean, I think she’d be crazy to be with one of them. But love is weird, and love is odd. Peoplealways talk about this Damon and Elena relationship, and I just can’t see that happening. I mean, he is pretty enticing, and suave, and he’s charming. But he’s a dick. He really is.”

There seems to be some sort of “Elena should ditch the Salvatores” syndrome making its way around the TVD set, because both Nina Dobrev and Zach Roerig made similar comments to E!. Do you agree with the sentiments?

Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev on Whether She’s Dating Ian Somerhalder: “We Haven’t Told Anyone Anything”

The Internet nearly exploded in November when Us Weekly published an article titled “Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev: Why We Love Each Other.” Fans of The Vampire Diaries had long suspected the co-stars weredating — and with good reason. They’ve been spotted kissing and traveled to Paris together over the summer. But in a recent interview in Nylon’s February issue, Nina responded to the rumors, and to that Us Weeklyarticle in particular, insisting, “We haven’t told anyone anything.”

“I remember that interview,” continues Nina. “They asked us, ‘What do you love about your co-stars?’ And we said, like, 10 different things about every single person on the show. But they’ll choose what they want to write about. And it’s fine — people have that fascination. I can’t say I’m not interested in Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and their family. But it’s something you fight really hard to persevere and keep private.”

The Nylon interview also included a quote about Nina from the Mr. Smolderhotter in question: “Nina works harder than anyone else on the show: Elena is in virtually every scene — and if Elena’s not, then Katherineis. But even when she’s exhausted, she brings a light to the people around her.”

This Week's Cover: 'The Vampire Diaries' stars talk about the red-hot Damon-Elena-Stefan triangle

Somehow, for a series packed with vampires, werewolves, witches, hybrids (and yes, even the occasional ghost), it’s a love triangle between two undead brothers, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), and one very mortal girl, Elena (Nina Dobrev), that gets The Vampire Diaries fans the most riled up. (And judging from the chemistry in our cover photos, it’s not hard to see why. Check out collectors’ covers No. 2 and 3 after the jump.)

When executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec decided that they were finally ready for bad-boy Damon to share a legitimate kiss with Elena — after more than two years of buildup — they knew it would have to satisfy two avid fan bases: those who wanted to see Elena get with Damon, and those who were still holding out hope for her to work things out with soul mate, Stefan.

“It’s one of those things that you want to be able to defend,” Williamson explains to EW. “But even more importantly, you’d rather not defend it. You want it to feel real and right and natural by all the audience.” Satisfying the “shippers” (a term used to identify fans who root for fictional characters to have relationships), is a challenge both Williamson and Plec have faced each time they’ve tried to advance the triangle. Asks Plec: “How can we service this moment between our characters that we really want, a Damon and Elena kiss, without getting the Stefan-Elena side of the fandom to give up hope and give up on us? And vice versa, when we want Stefan and Elena to have a moment together, how can we do that and not have our Delena fans outraged?”

This week’s EW cover story also features interviews with Vampire‘s stars — Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley — who talk about keeping the love triangle red-hot, where they fall in the Stelena-Delena shipper wars, and all rumors swirling around their real-life relationships. Says Dobrev: “The rumor mills were ‘Is Nina with Ian or is Nina with Paul?’ There was a lot of speculation.” Notes Somerhalder coyly, “Nothing has been confirmed yet.”

I was lucky enough to get to meet Nina at Eyecon and see Ian at the first ISF event. I also got to attend The Ripple Effect Charity Event in Los Angeles as well. Here’s what went down:

My 2 friends and I were in Covington for the Mystic Falls tour, and lucky for us they were filming that day! We’d driven past Elena’s house that morning before the tour and saw the “filming ahead” signs, most excited i’ve ever been to see a sign lol

The tour was really amazing and I was so happy to see the locations from our beloved show. After the tour we went to where they were filming at Elena’s house and waited with a bunch of other fans that were in town for Eyecon. We weren’t allowed too close to filming but we still got to see a few things from episode 3×10. About an hour or so after we got there, Matt Davis walked past (I waved at him and he just smirked at us ha ha), Steven R Mcqueen came over to say Hi to everyone which was really cool, then a little while later, Nina came to see us! I was almost crying seeing her for the first time, she was really really sweet and took a few pictures with fans before someone from the crew (or her PA, not too sure) came and said she had to get back to filming.

We stayed for a few more hours and got to see the scene with the jeep hitting Alaric, Elena running in the red shirt (we drove past later on and there she was jogging, so cool!) and most importantly, the Delena kiss scene! We weren’t allowed close enough to see what was happening on the porch, but we could see the crew on the lawn, and they parked Damon’s car next to us and then drove it to the house, so we knew what scene it was when we saw the episode. It was an amazingstart to the convention weekend and I was so happy we got to see Nina, Steven, Matt & filming.

I got to meet Nina officially at the photo-op at Eyecon, I was getting butterflies a bit as it got closer to my turn to take a picture with her, but she was really sweet and said “Nice shirt! Thanks for supporting me” when she saw I was wearing the Hunger Bites t-shirt she designed. Then later on in the Q & A when someone asked her if she supported any charities, she mentioned Me to We etc. & looked at me & said something like “There’s a young lady there who’s wearing the shirt I designed” then I like stood up and showed everyone the shirt lol it was really cool.

Just to remind you once again that on Thursday is the new episode of TVD Dangerous Liaisons.

SOME ENCHANTED EVENING - Elena is surprised to receive an invitation to a formal ball, and when Damon and Stefan hear the party is being hosted at Klaus's newly renovated mansion, they both insist on attending the event with her. Caroline and Matt also receive invitations to the ball from unexpected admirers. At the elegant party, Elena learns of a horrifying plan that could lead to numerous deaths and she must decide who she can trust wither her new information. Caroline discovers a side of Klaus no one would have suspected. Finally, after an evening of violence and dashed hopes, Damon finds a new way to cope.
