We can’t wait for Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) coffin collection to get opened one by one, but the Original Vampire we’re most excited to see is our old friend Elijah (Daniel Gillies). Not only does he have lilting accent that gives us the shivers, we’re guessing Klaus’ brother won’t be too happy that the hybrid daggered and coffined him.
Unfortunately, Zap2It is reporting that Elijah isn’t quite ready to be awakened from his Sleeping Beauty slumber. Instead, when he appears inThe Vampire Diaries Season 3, Episode 8, “Ordinary People,” it will be in one of the 1,000-year-old flashbacks introducing his mother, Esther (Alice Evans).
But it’s not just ancient Elijah we’ll be seeing: The flashbacks take place before the O.V. was turned. He’s a human! We’re hoping these flashbacks will answer how the Originals became bloodsuckers and a few other mysteries — such as how hybrid Klaus came to be. (We know vampires can’t procreate, so we’re guessing Esther had her adulterous affair with a werewolf before she was turned.)
