'The Vampire Diaries' Season 3 Episode 9 'Homecoming' Spoilers: Klaus and Rebekah

November 09, 2011 02:01 PM EST
Klaus is back in the present in this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, and it's going to be quite an exciting hour as episode 9, "Homecoming," of season 3 is also the midseason finale. What's going to happen at another Mystic Falls dance?
Vampire Diaries season 3 episode 9 "Homecoming" spoilers
vampire-diariesJoseph Morgan talked to E! Online (video below) about what's coming up in the last new episode of 2011, "Homecoming," and what it means for Klaus and Rebekah now that she knows the truth about their mother's death: "Look, this is a relationship that's been forged over the last thousand years, you know, and it's built on a lie because he lied to her about the fate of their mother. So yeah, I think definitely, they're not going to kind of skirt around the issue. That's a huge thing. She certainly is going to be upset with him, I would say. And Heaven help him when they pull the dagger out of Elijah." But will Rebekah be mad at her brother for long, or will she end up on his side when it comes down to it? Elena's worried about that, as seen in the "Homecoming" sneak peek, and for good reason too. They can't trust Rebekah just because she found out her brother has been lying to her all this time. She can easily stand at his side at the end of the day, but if they can at least have her out of the picture for some of the time, it's a good thing. Speaking of Elijah, will someone go take that dagger out so Daniel Gillies can appear in the present again? If they did, whose side would he choose this time? Last time, Elena, Damon, and Stefan trusted him, but after his betrayal, it's not like they're going to be ready to do so again.
Morgan also said "There's going to be a huge confrontation. Blood will be shed" in the Vampire Diaries midseason finale. Damon has his own secret plan in case the original one goes wrong to kill Klaus, and Mikael did tell Elena it could fall to her to kill him. The promos also show Klaus saying they underestimated him and ordering someone to "kill her." Right before that in the promo is a shot of Mikael standing with Elena and Bonnie, and it doesn't look good. It seems likely Damon's contingency plan is going to be necessary, but will it work? Whose blood will be shed by the end of the episode? Will everyone survive for the 2012 episodes?
